Musician Kenny G. has called it quits after 20 years of marriage, People magazine reports.

The smooth jazz star had already been separated from his wife, Balynda Helene Benson-Gorelick, for seven months, but on August 9 reportedly took another step toward ending their union.

According to People, Kenny G. filed for divorce on that day, citing irreconcilable differences. He's also said to be seeking joint custody of the couple's 14-year-old son, Noah.

The couple tied the knot in 1992. Kenny G., 56, filed for legal separation in January of this year.
