IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - Today, Idaho Falls held its 5th Annual Pride Parade and Festival.

The parade started at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Idaho Falls and ended at the Shilo Inn where the festival was set up. There were many booths and speakers, including Mayor Rebecca Casper.

Organizers say this event is very important.

"Showing that you're safe, you're accepted, it's so hard to be by yourself and no one should be alone in this world," Aryn Hawkins, marketing and media for Idaho Falls Pride committee.

"We all need to feel like we belong, every human being needs that regardless of  sexual orientation or gender identity. So that's something we're always striving for, is that everybody feels accepted," says Kristi Brower, former president of Idaho Falls Pride committee.

Guests say they feel safe and welcomed in the Idaho Falls community.

"We love Idaho Falls, I have fallen in love with the people here and it's just an amazing place," says Rev. Mara Pennell.
