IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - School District 91 says safety is one of their top priorities. This week the district started their bus drills.
Students in the district that ride the bus practiced going through the emergency exit. The students helped as each kid slid down. The district says this drill is very important.
"We transport hundreds of students across the district we bus kids on the east side and the west side of town and making sure that they're safe as we transport them from home to school to school to home," says Margaret Wimborne, Communication Specialist for District 91.
The school hasn't had any incidents with the buses this year. But want to make sure the students know what to do.
"Because if we ever have an emergency we want to be able to get the students off of the bus as quickly as possible and gather them in a safe location," says Ralph Frost, Transportation Director.
Kids at each school will take a turn doing the drill until next Thursday.
