IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - Get your yoga mats out. It's National Yoga Month.
Michelle is a yoga instructor at the yoga co-op in idaho falls. She's been teaching for about two years and says it's helpful.
"Yoga is kind of superior to some other forms of exercies because it helps with the mind and then when you're mind's feeling better you're just making better choices," says Michelle Fletcher
Some students say it even helps with physical pain.
"I was having problem with my shoulder and my neck and I had already seen my doctor two or three times in the previous six months and it wasn't going away, the pain and I saw a presentation on increased muscle movement can help your muscles heel quicker so I decided to come to yoga and within two to three weeks all that pain is gone and I was off my medication and it's been great," says Micah Nielsen, student.
Michelle says the popularity of yoga is growing in the community.
The Yoga Co-Op is a non-profit with three locations, two of which have wellness centers. They also offer free workshops that are made possible through donations. Workshops are on nurturing, meditation and more. For more information, you can visit their website or Facebook.
