Shelby has been on the Local News 8 team since September of 2017 where she first started as an intern. After four months of shadowing, reporting and working with producers, she was hired as a reporter, all while still in college.

Shelby grew up in the quaint maritime bay of Gig Harbor, forty miles outside of the Seattle area. In 2010, she traded her rain boots and umbrellas for flip flops and snow tires, moving to Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Shelby served as Editor in Chief of her high school newspaper, The Viking Crier, became her high schools English Sterling Scholar for the Utah area, created and wrote a fashion column, Passion for Fashion for her weekly paper, and worked on the Fashion Board Committee at her local Nordstrom, all while juggling private dance and voice lessons throughout the week, working with a-listers including: The Beach Boys, Carrie Underwood, and Carly Rae Jepsen.

After graduating from Pleasant Grove High School in 2015, Shelby packed up her life and moved to Rexburg, Idaho, where she is currently a junior studying News/Journalism.

Shelby is happiest traveling with her family. Some of her favorite trips include flying over a glacier in a five seater plane in Alaska, riding in a dingy surrounded by crocodiles in Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica, and exploring the fjords in Norway, just to name a few.

When Shelby isn’t looking up tickets to Disneyland, or ordering take-out from Cafe Rio, you can usually find her laughing and having a good time with her family, where she’s the youngest daughter, and an aunt to five.

Shelby enjoys working in the Idaho Falls area and thrives off of getting to know residents through her occupation.
