EPA Hosting Two Information Sessions On Tuesday

POCATELLO, Idaho -- The federal government is cleaning up the Simplot and FMC facilities, known as the Eastern Michaud Flats Superfund site.Tuesday, the EPA is hosting two information sessions to talk about recent and upcoming decisions about their clean up project.The EPA is ready to put out their proposed plan to FMC, but putting this into action could take five years and it will cost around $40 million."This is a major milestone to move forward and to have a clean up plan in place that will contain the containment associated with any problems associated with the FMC properties,” said Kira Lynch, Project Manager.If you would still like to ask questions about the project, a meeting is going on from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Fort Hall Business Council Center's Dome Room.There will be more formal public meetings throughout the summer.
