POCATELLO, Idaho -- Fourth of July is just around the corner and that means picnics! So while you're looking for the perfect food to feast on maybe you should think locally.
As the owner of Great Harvest Bread cuts into freshly baked red, white and blue bread, she describes it very simply.
"It's amazing. It kind of tastes like a healthier version of a cinnamon roll, but it's great for breakfast, you can make french toast out of it, or you can eat it alone,” said Cindy Ellis, Owner, Great Harvest Bread.
The fourth of July creation is a white bread with berries and if customers like it, it may remain on the permanent menu.
If you're craving sweets, the Popcorn Shop is serving up red, white and blue popcorn for the holiday and they expect to serve up a lot of people.
"At fourth of July, we like to do red, white and blue and this year it's a cherry cheesecake so it's similar to our huckleberry cheesecake, but it's got the cherries in it,” said Christy Kelshaw, Co-Owner, The Popcorn Shop.
They think they'll probably go through 1,500 cups that's 6 huge bags of this specialty popcorn in just a week.
At Del Monte Meats, employees are already getting ready for the holiday as well.
"We get a lot of people in getting their hamburger patties and hot dogs and a lot of people are grilling,” said Kari Giesprecht, Del Monte Meats.
No matter what you're craving, stores said buying local is as fresh as it comes.
Great Harvest Bread and the Popcorn Shop are making their specialty foods all next week.
