An apartment fire at 730 North Boulevard in Idaho Falls remains under investigation after residents were evacuated early Wednesday morning.

Police were first on scene and made sure everyone was out. One sleeping person was pulled from their apartment. A total of five people have been displaced by the fire.

Fire Marshall Ken Anderson told Local News 8 the fire started in the laundry room and may have been a mechanical problem, but they are still investigating.

There were no serious injuries reported.

The Red Cross is making sure folks from the apartment have a place to stay while the investigation and clean up continues.

Anderson said damage is estimated to be about $100,000.
