POCATELLO, Idaho -- Thursday the POW-MIA Awareness Rally held its opening ceremonies for the American Veterans Traveling Tribute in Pocatello.The traveling wall that will be displayed is 80 percent of the size of the original Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C. It stands over 8 feet tall and is more than 370 feet long.The cost of freedom displays are a series of exhibits represented by gold dog tags to remember and honor all who died in service since Vietnam.There are also exhibits and pictures from 9/11, World War II and Korea, along with art and educational displays regarding out country’s history."There are so many reasons why people need to be here. People put their life on the line and sometimes they don't come home and this is a way of honoring and paying tribute to those people,” said Casey Jackman, of the POW-MIA Awareness Rally.The American Veterans Traveling Tribute is open 24 hours a day through Sunday afternoon at the Bannock County Fairgrounds in Pocatello. The exhibit is free to attend.
