Truck Raffled Off To Help Education
POSTED: 5:48 pm MDT August 26, 2010UPDATED: 3:49 pm MDT August 27, 2010IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -- As part of its efforts to raise money for Idaho Falls School District 91 schools, the district's Education Foundation is getting innovative.
The foundation is raffling off a new 2010 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, donated by Teton Toyota.
The district was forced to cut $4.5 million from this school year’s budget.
All the money raised will go to school clubs and organizations.
"Right now with all the budget constraints and all the problems people are having raising money, we felt as a good corporate citizen we should be there to help the kids," said Mario Hernandez, Teton Toyota owner.
The tickets cost $10, with $9 going to the school's organization selling the ticket and $1 going to the Education Foundation to support education in Idaho Falls School District 91.
Tickets will be sold throughout the school year and the winning ticket will be drawn at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011, during the Tiger/Grizz Track Meet.
