Counterfeit Bills Used At Idaho Falls Business
POSTED: 11:45 am MDT August 27, 2010UPDATED: 3:39 pm MDT September 17, 2010IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -- Police in Idaho Falls are looking for two people who may be involved in using fake money.
Police said a Hispanic woman made a purchase at Lowes in Idaho Falls using $400 cash on August 22.
Three $100 bills and two $50 bills were later determined to be counterfeit.
They said the bills were washed and other denominations were copied onto them. The woman drove away in a white new model Chevy HHR, officers said.
A black man later returned the items purchased by the woman and obtained a refund.
Police said similar crimes have recently occurred in Pocatello and Salt Lake City.
They ask anyone with information to contact the Idaho Falls Police Department at 529-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 522-1983.
