PALISADES, Idaho -- Summer’s final weekend is here and thousands of campers are heading to the back country.Campgrounds across east Idaho are booked with folks getting that one last vacation before summer unofficially ends. In fact, nationwide, the recreational vehicle industry association said 60 percent of all RV-ers plan to hit the roads over the holiday weekend.“Just having fun, that’s all,” said Mel Lewis who was camping with his family in the Palisades. “Getting away from the rat race.”Also, the nation’s RV Parks and campgrounds registered a five percent increase over the last year. Most credit the economy for people staying a little closer to home for their vacations.
