POSTED: 12:02 am MDT September 4, 2010
One man is in jail after attempting to elude police and crashing his car in Idaho Falls on Friday.

Idaho State Police said Jaime Chavez’s gold Pontiac Grand Am was involved in several hit and run accidents.

When police located Chavez’s car and attempted to pull him over, he would not stop for the officers.

Chavez crashed into a blue Dodge Caravan at the intersection of 19th Street and Fife Avenue. Carol Messmer, 61, was driving the Caravan with passenger Patricia Messmer.

All three were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

After being treated, Chavez was released into Idaho Falls police custody and booked into Bonneville County Jail. He is being charged with felony eluding and aggravated DUI.

There is no word on either Carol or Patricia Messmer’s conditions. Police continue to investigate.
