Two Idaho Falls men are in jail after police say they broke into an apartment and cut a woman's neck overnight on Wednesday.

Bonneville County sheriff's office Sgt. Jeff Edwards said Steven Rankin and Joshua Townsley broke into 403 N. Wilson Drive at 5:30 a.m. The men were wearing ski masks and trying to steal things from the home, police said.

When a 73-year-old woman inside woke up, one of the men cut her neck, Edwards said. One of the men pushed another family member to the ground before running from the home, police said.

The sheriff's office later arrested the two. Rankin, 25, is charged with felony burglary, aggravated battery and robbery. Townsley, also 25, is charged with felony burglary.

Police continue to investigate.
