Police say the man accused of stealing cookie money from a Girl Scout troop has turned himself into police.
Unified Police Det. Ken Hansen says 24-year-old Steven Andrew Kvenvold turned himself into police around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say members of Troop 2532 were selling cookies at a stand outside a Taylorsville Wal-Mart last Saturday when a man approached them and acted as if he was going to buy cookies but instead stole a cash box and fled in a car driven by a woman.
Police suspect that woman was 24-year-old Kayla Long. Officers announced Tuesday that Long had been arrested.
Hansen says officers have not recovered the stolen money.
The mayor of Taylorsville has invited the Girl Scouts to sell cookies at Taylorsville City Hall on Saturday.
