Blackfoot ambulance fees go up

An ambulance trip in Bingham County will soon cost a little more.

The price will go from $9 for each mile a patient is carried to $11.

This hike in ambulance fees is being put in place to keep up with the rising costs of Medicare and Medicaid.

The Blackfoot Fire Department said it does not make any profit from the $2 increase – it's just help to keep the department afloat.

The price increase takes effect Dec. 1.
