A Challis woman died in a one car crash on Thursday morning.
Michelle Dea, 42, was driving south on U.S. Highway 93 in a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee when she failed to negotiate a turn. Dea overcorrected, lost control and slid off the side of the hill. Her car rolled to the bottom of the hill before coming to rest.
This happened at mile marker 138 on Willow Creek Summit.
A driver passing the spot of the crash saw Dea and called for help, but it was too late.
Dea was wearing a seat belt.
