Cat recovering after being shot in the head
A cat is recovering after someone shot it in the head in a Kuna subdivision.
The Idaho Statesman reports the cat's owner found the injured animal in his front yard Wednesday morning and rushed it to a clinic for treatment.
X-rays showed a bullet entered the back of the cat's head and exited its forehead just above the nose, missing its cranium by millimeters.
Veterinarians say the cat's right eye is destroyed and they are concerned about brain swelling. The cat, named Dexter, is alert and responsive, and if it survives for the next couple of days, it has a good chance of recovering.
The Idaho Humane Society is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an animal cruelty conviction.
