BOISE, Idaho (AP) -

Freezing rain falling in the Treasure Valley was making for hazardous driving conditions Thursday morning.

KBOI-TV reported two-tenths of an inch of freezing rain is covering the roads and cars parked outside are covered with ice.

The Idaho State Police closed a 70-mile stretch of Interstate 84 eastbound and westbound between the Boise and Glenns Ferry areas due to numerous slide-offs.

Schools in Nampa and Caldwell are closed Thursday. Boise and Meridian schools will remain open, but school officials say buses might be running late due to the road conditions.

A winter weather advisory is in effect through 11 a.m.
