Idaho carjacking suspect escapes arrest in Mont.
A man wanted for a carjacking last week in southwestern Idaho has escaped arrest in southern Montana.
Nampa Police Sgt. Joe Ramirez says 36-year-old Rodney Seiber of Nampa jumped out of a second-story window of a motel in Hardin, Mont., on Monday morning and fled from deputies who were investigating a trespassing complaint.
After learning that Seiber was wanted in Idaho, Big Horn County deputies searched for him for about 20 hours before calling off the search Tuesday morning.
Ramirez said Seiber's girlfriend, 18-year-old Brittany Robbins of Caldwell, was arrested on trespassing and obstructing charges.
Seiber is suspected of stealing a van from a welding supply company in Nampa last Wednesday after threatening an employee. He fled into a cornfield to elude capture.
