We are always looking out for the education of children, but what about education for adults?
The Idaho Board of Eduction met at Eastern Idaho Technical College today to discuss the Complete College Idaho Plan, where the goal is to have 60 percent of Idahoans ages 25-34 obtain a degree by the year 2020. Some key strategies are to make kindergarten through 12th grade curriculum more rigorous and to finish a degree by limiting unnecessary college classes.
Marilyn Whitney, who is the chief communications officer for Idaho's Board of Education said that education for all ages is important to the board.
"This plan actually was the result of a lot of collaboration amongst community groups, government agencies, legislation, and educators of the state who are very passionate about seeing Idaho students achieve more." said Whitney.
The Idaho Board of Education hopes this plan will get Idaho's economy booming within the next 10-15 years.
