"I like to play with 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles. I start with the outside and then do the corners, going from the outside to the middle.
I like to be inside and read books. I'm a really fast reader. In school, I like Math, even if it's hard for me. I use the mathematic techniques. I sometimes finish tests really fast because I want to get it done.
I have friends at school who like to play football at recess. They say I'm funny and hilarious. I like to tell riddles and jokes.
After school, I like to ride my bike. I wear my helmet to protect my noggin. I like to play a lot. I was in a jump rope contest and I can do double dutch. I might like to play basketball, too, but mostly I'm an indoor kid.
My favorite foods are enchiladas and tacos and Pozole [a special occasion Mexican soup with hominy and pork]. And I like fried okra. And Asiago chicken sandwiches at Wendy's. I like to dip my French fries in my chocolate Frostie. I wish I had coupons so I could eat there all the time and I wouldn't have to pay.
When I think about a mom or a dad, they would be funny and tell good jokes. I could help with the trash. I'm not really very good about keeping things picked up in my room, but I'll try. I might like to have brothers and sisters if they wouldn't mind having a younger brother. "
J'urny's caseworker describes him as "super active and a boy who likes to keep himself busy. His mind runs a hundred miles an hour and he often skips from one subject to another. He's very bright." Although J'urney is not necessarily into sports, he does like to play catch with a mitt and swim and bike. J'urny gets lots of awards at school for reading, which has been great for his self-confidence. He loves to read.
Described as a fun-loving kid who loves having one-on-one attention, J'urny does well with adults, as well as with his friends at school. He would benefit from folks who will assist with social skill building and give him many opportunities to practice those skills with friends.
When J'urny is feeling frustrated, it might show on his face or he might occasionally have a short burst of anger, but he is overwhelmingly happy, generous and enthusiastic. His caseworker thinks he would do better in a family with a mom and dad who either have no other children or children much older than he is. Surrounded by many children near his own age, or younger, he would struggle for a parent's attention. Having already survived very challenging circumstances, J'urny deserves folks who pay attention to his needs and provide a safety plan that also gives him increasing amounts of trust and freedom.
J'urny will bless any home with his unlimited enthusiasm for life. For fun-loving, playful parents, he will bring a smile to your face with each new joke, riddle, and accomplishment. J'urny will show you how to discover the full puzzle picture, as you work from the outside in and discover his generous heart!
