In this week's Main Street Buzz, a new bakery in Idaho Falls is taking on a European Flair.
La Vanilla Bean Patisserie opened in downtown Idaho Falls Monday. The bakery is on the corner of B street and Park avenue.
Opening this bakery has been a two-year project for owner Kay Lynn Broadhead who decided to switch careers from teaching communications at Idaho State University to following her passion for baking. The bakery focuses on European-style treats like tarts, eclairs and napoleons. They also make peroshki, quiche, and offer hot beverages.
"We make everything from scratch anything you get here will be made from real butter, real cream. all the fattening stuff. the other thing, it's more of a european niche, our croissants are home-made," said Broadhead.
The bakery is open monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
