Oneida county bans fireworks

Oneida County Commissioners have approved an emergency provision outlawing the use of all fireworks outside Malad City limits effective immediately. The ban will stay in effect until further notice through the 2012 fire season.

Commissioners met in emergency session Friday with Malad City and county Fire District Commissioners.

At the present time, fireworks will be allowed within city limits. That could change with fire conditions. County Commissioners also agreed to allow a Fire District sponsored professional fireworks show to go ahead on the 4th of July.
