Otter tapes ad targeting cyberbullying in schools

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter is urging Idaho students, parents and teachers to bring an end to cyberbullying.

The governor released a 30-second public service announcement Tuesday that claims more than 18,000 kids across the state receive text messages or other electronic communications from bullies each year.

Otter goes on to say that Idahoans can stop the practice with education on the harmful effects of bullying and how to create a zero tolerance policy for harassment in and out of schools.

October is Cyberbullying Awareness Month. Earlier this year, lawmakers in the Idaho House rejected a bill approved by the Senate to require teachers and administrators to crack down on electronic harassment.
