Police: Man strikes Pocatello officer with car
A man who allegedly knocked over a police officer with his car was being held in the Bannock County jail Monday.
Pocatello police were checking out complaints about a loud party at 5024 Yellowstone at 12:20 a.m. Saturday when 20-year-old Zackary Mark Price ran out the back door. According to police reports, Price got into his car and started to back out of an alley. He then knocked over an approaching officer with the fender of his car, police said.
Police said Price then started forward directly toward the officer, who had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit again.
The officer was not hurt, but Price was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery.
A second man, identified as 19-year-old Calen Joshua Burch, was in the passenger seat of the car. He was arrested on charges of resisting and obstructing.
