Prosecutor awaits arrival of Burley murder suspect
Authorities say a man from Burley will be extradited to Idaho in about a month to be charged in the slaying of another man at a motel last year.
Cassia County Prosecutor Al Barrus told the Times-News his office is getting ready to prosecute James Duane Ambrose once he's handed over by Nevada authorities.
Ambrose faces first-degree murder and grand theft in the May 2012 slaying of 54-year-old Russ Taft of Burley. Authorities say Ambrose then stuffed Taft's body in the crawl space of his motel. Ambrose was arrested in Las Vegas in November.
In Nevada, Ambrose awaits sentencing for a brutal home invasion of an elderly couple.
After Ambrose's case is decided in Cassia County, he will be returned to Nevada to serve his prison term there.
