Investigators are attempting to pinpoint the cause of a fire that destroyed a Rigby home Thursday. Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant Steve Anderson said the fire apparently started in the garage of a house at 4010 E. 100 N. at around 4:50 pm. There are no signs of foul play.
No one was injured in the fire, which was reported by a neighbor while the owner was mowing the lawn. The name of the homeowner was not available.
Anderson said the fire totally destroyed the home and was hot enough to melt siding on a neighboring house.
Firefighters from Rigby, Lewisville, Menan, and Ririe all responded to the emergency call.
