An effort to replace all four of the famed antler arches on the Jackson Town Square has been delayed.
The Rotary Club of Jackson Hole has replaced three of the arches but high antler prices and a sluggish economy have caused problems for completing the fourth.
Pete Karns, of the Help Save the Arches committee, says it may be a year before the project can be completed.
It will take about 12,000 pounds of antler to rebuild the final decrepit arch on the northwest corner of the square.
So far, the club has gathered or committed to buy 4,000 pounds.
Karns tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide that the club needs about $74,000 to buy that much antlers.
