Young boy recovers after being hit by pickup

A 4-year-old boy is recovering at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City after getting hit on Friday night.

He was hit by a car near the intersection of 12th Street and Cranmer in Idaho Falls on Friday at 8:30 p.m. after police said he darted into the road.

Police said the driver of the pickup was not impaired or driving recklessly. Police said Friday that the boy is expected to live.

His mother said Monday that he has a broken leg and arm, as well as injuries to his face. Doctors were afraid he had swelling in his brain, so he was scheduled for an MRI Monday afternoon.
