SHELLEY, ID (KIFI/KIDK) - UPDATE 12/8/17 3:30 p.m: On Friday, December 8 at approx. 3:05 pm, the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office located the body of 48-year-old male Bryce Lloyd.
According to officials, an airplane pilot was flying the river and spotted the body.
UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: The search for Bryce Lloyd has been suspended for the night. Due to fog and darkness, officials called off the search for the day around 5 p.m. The search will continue tomorrow morning around 7:30 a.m.
The weather caused issues with finding Lloyd.
“The fog is really caused us some problems today," Sheriff Craig Rowland, Bingham County Sheriff, said. "We were going to have helicopters come up and fly it and they can’t fly in the fog. And it’s hard to see the water, the current and everything else with the fog. It seems like it’s right down on top of the water. So it’s been a real difficult day for us.”
UPDATE 3:00 p.m.: The Bingham County Sheriff's Office has identified the missing fisherman as 48-year-old Blackfoot attorney Bryce Lloyd.
Officials said the search for Lloyd continues.
UPDATE 12.7.12 12:00 p.m.: The Bingham County Sheriff's Office reports there’s some fog on the river which is making the search difficult.
According to officials, there are three boats with radar technology searching below the water. Two boats are from Bingham County, and one is from Bonneville County with six divers.
Names have not been released.
UPDATE 6:37 P.M.:
The Bingham County Sheriff's office is suspending the search for the missing fisherman.
Two men were riding in a boat when it hit a diversion and tipped over around 2:23 p.m. Wednesday.
One man made it to shore, the other did not.
Neither of the men were wearing life jackets.
Bingham County Sheriff Craig Rowland tells Local News 8 and KIDK Eyewitness News there will be a drone, life flight, two boats from Bingham County and one from Bonneville County as well as divers.
The search will continue in the morning at 7 a.m.
Bingham County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drowning at North Bingham Park in Shelley.
The Sheriff has confirmed it is a fisherman.
