HANSEN, Idaho (AP) -

Authorities in south-central Idaho say a body spotted Thursday morning in the Snake River Canyon is likely that of a fisherman swept away in the current late last month.

Jerome County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Capt. Jack Johnson tells The Times-News that crews are working to recover the body that's on some rocks about a mile downstream from Hansen Bridge.

Forty-six-year-old Clarence Troy Baynes was last seen by a fishing partner near the bridge on June 29.

Authorities say the two hiked into the canyon and decided to cross the river but Baynes was swept away.
