Body of missing Burley man recovered from Snake River

RUPERT, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - Searchers have recovered the body of a missing Burley man below the Minidoka Dam on the Snake River.
Minidoka County Sheriff Eric Snarr said John Meithof,54 was fishing with Lori Meithof,40, below the dam at around 7:30 p.m. Friday when they were both swept away in the current.
Neither one was wearing a life jacket.
Lori was rescued by nearby boaters, but they could not find John.
On Saturday, the Sheriff's Office mounted a search effort on a 5-mile stretch of the river.  In addition to the Minidoka Sheriff's Office, the search was joined by private boaters, the Cassia County Sheriff's Office, Mini-Cassia Search and Rescue, and the Jerome County Sheriff's Office.
Search efforts were reorganizing Monday when John's body was found within a mile of where he was last seen.
