About 200 parishioners attended a ceremony to cleanse the evil from a Catholic church in Ogden where a man shot his father-in-law.
The Standard Examiner of Ogden reports that the Rev. Erik Richtsteig led church-goers around the outside of the St. James the Just Catholic Church Thursday evening sprinkling holy water and reciting scripture.
They later went inside the church where Richtsteig told parishioners not to be afraid to return to the site of the Sunday shooting. During the Liturgy of Reparation ceremony, he also asked them to pray for 35-year-old Charles "Ricky" Jennings.
Police say Jennings shot 66-year-old James Evans during a Father's Day Mass. Jennings has been charged with attempted homicide.
Evans is in fair condition and is expected to survive.
