A climbing guide was at Grand Teton National Park after a busy weekend for rangers.
Jim Williams of Jackson was injured in a fall on the Grand Teton Monday while on a guided trip with a client. Park officials say he fell after the snow underneath him collapsed but he was still able to get himself and his client through technical terrain to a spot where rangers were able to evacuate him by helicopter.
Over the weekend, rangers also had to rescue three overdue hikers and treat a 30-year-old German who woman was struck by a huge tree branch knocked loose during a wind storm. A 74-year-old man form Troy, Michigan also died of a heart attack while on a ranger-led hike on Sunday.
