FORT HALL, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - UPDATE 1/11/17 3:25 p.m.: According to a press release from Fort Hall police, dispatch received a call around 11 p.m. Tuesday night for an unconscious adult female.
The woman was found dead at the scene when officers arrived. Chief Pat Teton with Fort Hall said the name of the victim is not being released until her family has been notified.
Police said a male suspect is currently in custody. His name has also not been released at this time.
The Fort Hall Police Department and FBI are investigating the cause of death.
ORIGINAL STORY: The death of a woman on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation Tuesday is being investigated as a homicide.
The FBI confirmed Wednesday it is working with the Fort Hall Police Department to investigate the murder.
Officials assured there was no threat to public safety.
In a brief news release, the FBI said, "Because of the ongoing nature of the investigation, we cannot provide further comment at this time."
