Daylight saving begins Sunday

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - Daylight saving time begins this weekend when we turn our clocks ahead an hour.

Clocks in the U.S. will change by an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Cellphones or other devices that are tapped into networks will be changed automatically by providers. Daylight saving time also means more daylight in the evening and an hour less of sleep, but one family nurse practitioner at the Sleep Institute in Idaho Falls has tips on how to reduce the fatigue effects of daylight saving time.

"I recommend that they keep getting up at the same time every morning, eventually they'll get back to their 6 to 8 hour routine," said Christina Finnerty.

Additional tips for getting a good night's sleep include: making sure the room is quiet, dark, and cool.
