Ellis is happy. He’s healthier. He’s strong. No doubt, this is something that runs in the family.

“You just do it,” said Parkinson. “You find the strength inside of you, as a mom. You just do what you have to do to take care of your children.”

Ellis will be back at Primary Children’s in six months to decide what will be next. He will need surgery again, but doctors are hoping to save his colon so one day he can live bag-free.

Parkinson says they wouldn’t be where they are today without amazing friends, family, and neighbors.

Eastern Idahoans have a chance to help Eastern Idaho families, just like Ellis’.

The Primary Children’s telethon is coming up on June 2, on Channel 3 Eyewitness News.
