Hard Freeze Warning for the Snake River Plain

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - The National Weather Service in Pocatello, has issued a Freeze Warning for Monday night and Tuesday morning.

"Persistent north to northeast airflow that continues today and tonight will bring cold air over the Continental Divide and into eastern Idaho. Many locations in the Snake River and a few locations in the eastern Magic Valley should see a hard freeze tonight."

Clouds on Tuesday night could keep temperatures warmer in most of those same locations.

  • Eastern Magic Valley-Upper Snake River Plain-
  • Lower Snake River Plain-
  • Including the cities of Burley, Rupert, Heyburn, Idaho Falls,
  • Rexburg, and Pocatello

10 AM MDT TUESDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...Tuesday morning low of 25 to 32 degrees in the   Snake River plain, and 26 to 32 degrees in the eastern Magic Valley.

* IMPACTS...These cold temperatures will kill unprotected crops and plants if measures are not taken to protective sensitive vegetation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
