BLACKFOOT, Idaho - The Eastern Idaho State Fair is still in full effect and with an extra day this year. They say according to their audience numbers the turn out has been great. They say its a great boost for the economy in Blackfoot.
"In the week of the fair from what we know about 6 million dollars in commerce goes on. A lot of people are hired that have temporary employment for those weeks. Takes a lot of people to make everything happen here but outside the fair there's probably some even more significant commerce that occurs here within the community of blackfoot and we're glad to be a part of it. One of the things we talk about each year that the fair generates, is over $350,000 goes directly to youth programs," says Brandon Bird, General Manager.
They also say with the great weather we've been having, the turnout is expected to increase.
