IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - An anonymous group of donors is asking the community to join them in committing to the local arts.
The group has promised to donate half the money needed to finish the Artitorium that's being built in Idaho Falls.
As a result, the Idaho Falls Arts Council kicked off its Phantom 2.0 Community Challenge to raise the money.
Set to open in spring or summer of 2014, the Artitorium will host lectures, performances and interactive technology for arts education.
"Not only are we excited that it's been a long road to get here -- and a lot of people have helped us get to this point -- but we're just excited to bring these activities to Idaho Falls for all age children, from toddlers, to junior high kids, to even adults," said Brandi Newton, project manager for the Artitorium.
If the community raises $241,000 before September 30, that plus the matched money from the phantom donors will be enough to finish the $1.5 million project.
