MALAD, Idaho - The Malad post office was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday morning.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office said the robbery happened about 9:30 a.m. The suspect is male, white, about 6 feet tall, was wearing a ball cap and black jacket, brownish hair and unshaven with a thin face.
He left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Schools and banks in the area were on lockdown for an hour while police searched the area. The sheriff's office would not confirm the robbery occurred until 2 p.m.
Also investigating the robbery are the FBI and U.S. postal inspector.
Authorities have not said whether this is related to Tuesday night's armed robbery of a gas station in Pocatello.
