ARCO, Idaho - Atomic Days kicks off Friday. The City of Arco is celebrating its history as the first city lit by nuclear power in 1955.
The celebration takes place on July 18 - 20. Most of the festivities will take place on Saturday. The event will showcase a parade, rodeo, car show, and more. There will be a live concert after the rodeo on Friday and Saturday, featuring Country Western Singer Kay Lynette.
Event organizer Melinda Shodin said the event is a great way for the community to come together and celebrate the town's positive history.
"We just want everyone to come out and soak up some and just have fun. It's going to be a great time," said Shodin.
