Car stolen in home invasion found

Home intruder on the loose

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - Idaho Falls police have found a car stolen in a home invasion Thursday, but are still seeking the suspect.

Police said the man broke into a home in the 2400 block of Blue Camas at around 4:30 a.m. The homeowner said a window was opened just a crack, which the robber used to get in. According to reports, the man woke the victim, a woman, at gunpoint. The suspect then tied the victim with rope so tight, it left bruises.

Various items were stolen before the man left in the victim's car. Police said Friday that they found the stolen blue 2011 Kia Optima.

The intruder was identified as a thin, white, adult male between the ages of 18  and 25. He is between 5' 11" to 6' tall, with brown eyes and short brown hair.  He was wearing a black T-shirt with "Oceanic" printed on it, black athletic pants with two white stripes down the legs and a black baseball cap with "Jack" in white letters.

The victim said she believes the intruder was tipped off. She said a man came by a couple of days before the robbery to take a survey and asked if she lived alone.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Idaho Falls Police at (208) 529-1200 or Crimestoppers at 522-1983.
