CHUBBUCK, Idaho - Tuesday was the last election Steven England would see as Chubbuck's mayor.
He has been in the office for eight years. Before that, he was on the City Council for 22 years.
"I just came to the conclusion that 30 years as a comfortable amount of time," said England.
During his time serving the city, he was more than just mayor. He helped deliver hot meals with the Meals on Wheels program, supported the community hockey program and helped bridge the relationship between Pocatello and Chubbuck.
"Rather than having two separate proclamations, we would develop the proclamations together from the two cities. Then we'd go to one event and read one paragraph and then the other so that it really became a joint proclamation," he said.
He also brought in big business like Allstate.
England's hard work has brought the city to where it's at today.
With a vision Chubbuck will keep growing, he said he won't be slowing down anytime soon.
He'll continue to serve on the Pocatello-Chubbuck Auditorium Board, Chamber of Commerce, Pocatello Chiefs, the Valley Pride Committee and in the next couple of years, he and his wife plan on serving an LDS mission together.
