IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - A Salmon man was arrested Wednesday after Idaho Falls police said he was driving drunk and hit a 12-year-old boy.
Police said the boy was riding his bicycle westbound on the south sidewalk along West Broadway. He was riding through the crosswalk across the south Interstate 15 on-ramp when Brian Morton, 31, was drove a white Ford truck into the lane to get on I-15.
The bike and truck collided, and the boy was knocked to the ground.
The boy was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. His condition was not released.
Police said Morton was under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred. He was arrested on a charge of aggravated driving under the influence, a felony, and booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
