IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - A man who has been in and out of jail in the past few months on drug-related charges, including trafficking, is behind bars again after a traffic stop Tuesday.
Idaho Falls police said an officer on patrol made contact with 22-year-old Garrett Gafford of during a traffic stop at Center and G Street around 6:30 p.m. The officer said Gafford appeared to be lost.
During the stop, police discovered Gafford, Gresham, Ore., of had a suspended driver's license. While being placed under arrest for that infraction, officers found he was in possession of heroin. Police also found prescription medication, syringes and a spoon.
He was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
Gafford was out of jail on bond for numerous other drug-related charges, including felony charges of drug trafficking in heroin in May. In March, he was arrested with two other men at the Hotel on the Falls on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, among other drug-related charges.
