AMMON, Idaho - All around the country some people are already lining up at stores in anticipation of Thanksgiving Day sales. The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office says it will be increasing its presence at shopping centers to ensure things don't get too out of control.
"The biggest thing is we definitely want people to be safe," said Sgt. Jeff Edwards with the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.
In East Idaho many stores are opening early. At the Walmart in Ammon there will be two officers inside the store on Thanksgiving Day to help with crowd control.
There will also be officers out on the roads.
"There's gonna be more and more people traveling the highways and roadways to see family and things like that," Edwards said.
"Wear those seat belts, you know, (drive) the speed limit, leave a little early," he added.
