REXBURG, Idaho - With the Idaho International Summerfest less than three weeks away, coordinators are scrambling to find host families.
Dancers from all over the world come to Rexburg, and they spend a week with a family in the area. The host families feed, house and provide transportation.
Pamela Nelson is helping co-coordinate housing for the dancers.
"We're down to about three weeks, or almost less than three weeks," said Nelson."I'm sill looking for, probably, up to 20 families."
Heidi Codling has hosted dancers at her home in Wilford for 14 summers. This year her family will be hosting dancers from China.
"We've never done China before, which will be interesting," said Codling.
She said her family still stays in touch with nearly all of the dancers it has hosted. In fact, the family is even planning a trip to Europe in September to visit several of them.
"In Denmark we'll see our exchange student, and we'll meet one of the guys that stayed with us 11 years ago," said Codling. "In Croatia we're going to see both dance teams that stayed with us."
