POCATELLO, Idaho - The new Western States Equipment Company will be expanding and relocating to a new location in Pocatello, adding 10 jobs to their 105 employees.
"The new building is here in our community, the investment's there," said John Regetz, executive director of the Bannock Development Corporation, "and then in the long run we also have the increased activity of the companies that are their customers coming into the community."
Regetz said the city of Pocatello, Bannock County Commissioners and a whole team worked together to help Western States decide where to relocate.
"We think we made a great impression," Regetz said. "I know that the company president, Tom Terteling, appreciated that."
Regetz said the Bannock Development Corporation is also working with five southeast Idaho counties to match up area companies with other area companies to keep products and purchases local.
"We want to try and build those strategic clusters of companies that have suppliers that then provide them with the products and services they need to be successful," Regetz said. "Then, we reach out to the clients and customers that are in the region."
Western States has not yet decided on a groundbreaking date.
